It's been a while since I've been there but my husband brought me there on my birthday for dinner. We expected great food, a view, and a romantic atmosphere-boy were we dissapointed! They were blasting this horrible pop music and did nothing about it even when I complained to my server. I think the idiots that were running the place were going more for a young bar crowd that will keep ordering drinks if the music is blasting! This felt more like a sports bar than a fine dining establishment. The food was mediocre, at best. I had a pasta dish and my husband had a steak, not bad but nothing to make us drive 1 1/2 hours to celebrate my birthday. Never again!!!

We love the new paradise! We had the dinner party following my son's baptism at Paradise Landing. We were given a very nice private room. The building is beautiful - helpful staff- and the food is delicious .Sunday brunch is wonderful. The summer time view from the porch looking out onto Balsam Lake is gorgeous.

My wife and I went to Pparadise landing at the recommendation of friends. We're usually a wee bit skeptical of a restaurant that has a wide and varied menu because it seems that restaurants for themselves way to them. Paradise landing has such a menu but they do a great job of serving ever pairing food. I ordered the quote sizzling steak close quote and it was truly a sizzling with steam rising from the onions mushrooms etc on the hot skillet platter. My wife had the salmon salad. And I had to top things off with a slice of key lime pie although it was very good. Paragraph unfortunately the rain precluded our ability to dine out on the deck overlooking the lake but we had the next best location: a window table overlooking the lake. Next time we'll try to coordinate our rival better with weather but there will definitely be a next time. This is one of the true destination Jones in this area of Wisconsin!

What a pleasant surprise when we found this place! Friends have told us that it is a nice drive to get to Paradise Landing on Balsam Lake in Wisconsin and the place is absolutely beautiful inside and out. We especially love the patio overlooking the lake on nice days. Even if the weather isn't so nice, the huge windows allow you to take in the view as you dine. We usually try to get there at off peak times so good seating is not a problem. Overall the food and service have been good, but not fabulous. It appears that they do quite a few events. We have seen areas set up for weddings, receptions and other events/occasions although we have not been a part of the events.

You'll spend a lot and leave feeling like you've been robbed. Everything is marginal. Service however isn't. It's less....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME !!!! Yes, my family and I drove all the way from central Mn to have my birthday dinner here on a Sunday nite in Oct. It was a little difficult to locate with all the road construction and rain, but we found it. We had an unneeded reservation, as it was very empty, but they knew we were coming! Got seated at a window table, but it was pretty rainy and dark. I've been here during the day and it is a lovely beautiful resort. Simply gorgeous. And the way the interior is decorated is absolutely stunning. So rustic and North Woodsish. Couldn't tell how clean it was because it was so dark inside. Our server was sweet and smart, and attentive. She must have been new as she was a llitle unsure of many things. Our warm cheese app was tasty, as was the French Onion soup ($2 upcharge) beet salad ($2 upcharge) . The southwestern salad was crisp, and the parmesan chicken was parmesan chicken. Then came the NUT CRUSTED WALLEYE. Bingo. Large serving, with glazed carrots. There was so much glaze it ran over half the plate, but flavored the walleye. Nice. However, the nuts seemed like they were hammered into the fish. Peculiar . But ok. We shared a homemade fresh tasting cheesecake with berries. Here's the best part: On your birthday, you can get a free bottle of wine up to the price equaling your age. And, they had Santa Margarita, my fav!! SCORE. Then, as if we hadn't had enough, came the piece de resistance... A TIRAMISU MARTINI....Exquisite Irish Coffee.....Hearty For All the food we ordered, the price wasn.t all that bad. I think the management company that took this place over is doing a decent job. Maybe the bad reviews are from before they took over. I L O V E M Y F A M I L Y Thank you Kids

We have continued to try this place for years. However, the last two times we went, the food was so lackluster, and the prices had gotten so high, we are finally done trying. The setting, on the shores of Balsam Lake, is absolutely beautiful. So if you're interested in good scenery, lousy food at a high price, this is your place. Recently warned my sister and husband not to go here for their anniversary, but they were lured by the setting. When they returned, they said, "Here's your chance to say 'I told you so!'"

I was a little bothered at some service (or lack there of) that I received here recently and wrote both the Manager and Assistant manager. It's been over a week now and I've received absolutely no response... please see attached letter: Ms. XXXX, Mr. XXXX, Last Saturday, around 6:30pm, my party of six had visited your beautiful restaurant overlooking the gorgeous Balsam Lake. Despite the overgrown shrubbery, the view was breathtaking and proved a very relaxing spot to enjoy dinner. Upon arrival, the hostess that greeted us seemed pleasant enough and informed us that there would be about a half hour wait for outdoor seating. At that we left our name and proceeded toward the bar, but meandered first outside to take in a view of the lake. There was plenty of outdoor seating available, and no other customers to seat, but we accepted the delay and walked toward the lake, finding a spot by the fireplace to wait for our dinner table. The area looked as though it had not been taken care of for quite some time, as there were over twenty empty drink glasses on the cocktail table. We had been there for a good ten or fifteen minutes before we finally alerted the staff that we had not yet been greeted. After the few trips it took to clear the cocktail table, the waitress took our drink orders and then offered us seating at a table (which we declined as the area we were seated at served us just as well). In our group of six were a Gulf War veteran, an insurance broker, a desktop specialist, an EI&C technician, a carpenter and a salesman. We are all professionals who happen to share a common love for motorcycling. I tell you this because after leaving, one in our party had informed the rest of us that he had circled back toward the hostess' desk and had overheard one telling the other, "I told them a half hour, hopefully that will be too long of a wait for them." Your website states that you have "maintained a history of hospitality" and have "worked hard to make sure there is a piece of 'Paradise' that everyone can enjoy." From my experience, the recipients of that said hospitality seem to be exclusive to those who fit a certain mold and appearance and are judged accordingly by your hostessing staff. Since I was the one who had recommended Paradise Landing, based on a prior positive experience, I am both offended and embarrassed to have had my friends subjected to such discrimination. I'll have you know that the motorcycling community is a growing community of professionals from all walks of life and in this day and age of social media, it's just bad business to discourage the patronage of such a large group. Respectfully yours, ~Jacqueline Ihrke

This was an awesome outing. We sat overlooking Balsam Lake while wake boarders did tricks, patroon boats floated by, and the loons made their calls. The food was timely and tasty. The wait staff friendly and fast. I will go back often.

We attended as a group for a work function. I was very impressed with the restaurant and it's location. I get that we went in the middle of the week in late September but . . . Mold on bread Wilted lettuce Nightly special prime rib with no flavor. Maybe the cheese curds would have been good.

I went to Paradise Landing with my family for lunch. VERY slow service, mediocre food, and many tables were left uncleaned with dirty dishes!

Ambience= spectacular Food= great Service= Super Staff= Ultra-friendly I don't know why in the world this place has gotten such low review at times, because the night I was there, everyone from the hostesses to the servers went out of their way with genuine smiles and helpfulness to make me feel comfortable, 2000 miles away from home. The Happy Hour is great, with Bingo Night on Mondays. So fun and funny and a definite sense of community amongst the people who attend. We ate dinner on the deck overlooking the lake. We got an appetizer then sandwiches and burgers but everything was cooked right and tasted great. When in Wisconsin again, I'll definitely be back at Paradise Landing.

Bankrupt and shut down last spring. Building is for sale. Too bad. Only fine dining on Balsam Lake.

The place is gorgeous but the food not so much... I've eaten here a few different times for family occasions and the food was your typical cheap restaurant fare nothing original or inventive with big city prices.

Nothing better than having a burger and beer on the Paradise patio! Decor is beautiful, wait staff friendly, and food is delicious. Makes me happy just thinking about it.

The setting is fantastic, but we were told there would be a 2 1/2 hour wait for the patio that "does not take reservations". Which is fine, first come first served, right? Well, we had to sit inside while 1/2 of the patio was empty. No reason. They also said that there were 2 large parties coming with more than 10 people ( sounds like a reservations ). However, during our dinner inside we watched the staff break up the large seating to accommodate smaller parties that came in. Throughout our hour long dinner, the patio remained empty. Then to top it off, the burgers were terrible, the beer had an old tap smell, and the waitress forgot the soup. Long story short, this place could make a lot of money, but the seating of guests and the food are some of the worst I've seen (and I'm not a picky eater).
